What This Package Does ----------------------- When you upgrade to Windows 2000 from a Windows NT 4.0 operation system that IBM preinstalled, you might experience a problem installing the ThinkPad Configuration Utility. This Configuration Utility Setup Fix fixes this problem. If you encounter the message, "Error - can not run on this system," while installing the ThinkPad Utility, please run this fix. The supported models are as follows. - NT4.0 preload models of ThinkPad 380 series - NT4.0 preload models of ThinkPad 560 series - NT4.0 preload models of ThinkPad 570 - NT4.0 preload models of ThinkPad 600 series - NT4.0 preload models of ThinkPad 760/765 series - NT4.0 preload models of ThinkPad 770 series Released Version ---------------- Version 1.00 Initial release Summary of Changes ------------------ Key: Diskette Version (for example, 1.00 means Version 1.00) (New) New Function or Enhancement (Fix) Correction to existing function <1.00> - (Fix) Initial release Installation Instructions ------------------------- 1. Start Windows 2000 and log on with an Administrator user account. 2. Extract this package to the hard disk. 3. Click on 'Start' then click on 'Run...' 4. In the Run dialog window, type "C:\DRIVERS\W2K\UTILFIX\RMREG.EXE" to install the utility fix. Click OK to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead. 5. A success message is displayed. Press the OK button. 6. Restart the ThinkPad Configuration Utility Setup program. This time, the Error message should not appear and Setup will continue without any problems.
