This package is required when you install Windows Operating Systems without the Product Recovery function. - This program is language independent and can be used with any language system. What This Package Does ---------------------- This package contains the following support modules. - Support TI PCI 1520 CardBus contorller - Support TI PCI 1510 CardBus controller - Support TI PCI 4520 CardBus controller The following ThinkPad computers are supported: - ThinkPad R40 - ThinkPad R50(*1)/R50e(*1)/R50p(*1)/R51(*1) - ThinkPad T30(2366/2367-66x/67x/E7x/K7x/86x/C6x/87x/8Ax/8Gx/68x/88x/ 89x/56x/96x/57x/97x/5Ax/9Ax/5Bx/9Bx/N6x/R6x/P6x/Mxx) - ThinkPad T40/T40p/T41/T41p/T42/T42p(*1) NOTE *1: Only Windows 2000 is supported. To determine if you should update the supplement files, refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. To update the supplement files, refer to the "Installation Instructions" section. Start Windows 2000. 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, select Settings, and click Control Panel. 4. Double-click System. 5. Select the Hardware tab. 6. Click Device Manager. 7. Double-click PCMCIA adapters. 8. Double-click Generic CardBus Controller. 9. Select the Driver tab. 10.Click Update Driver. 11.Click Next. 12.Select Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended). 13.Click Next. 14.Select Specify a location 15.Specify the path of the files extracted in step 2. The default path is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\PCI1520. 16.Click OK. 17.Click Next. 18.Click Finish. 19.Click Close. 20.Repeat steps 9 through step 19 for the other Generic CardBus Controller listed in Device Manager. Unattended installation If you prefer unattended installation, follow process below. 1. Create or Add OemPnPDriversPath=folder for TI PCI1520 under [Unattended] section in an Unattend.txt. For example, OemPnPDriversPath=DRIVERS\OTHER 2. Create the folder with the name of folder for TI PCI1520. For example, c:\DRIVERS\OTHER 3. Put all the files within the folder created above. Files are: ticb2k.cat TICB2K.INF Windows 98/98SE 1. Start Windows 98. 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, select Settings, and click Control Panel. 4. Double-click the System icon, then click the Device Manager tab. 5. Click PCMCIA socket to expand its contents. 6. Right click on Generic CardBus Controller and select Properties. 7. Click the Driver tab. 8. Click Update Driver. 9. Click Next. 10. Select Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now.(Recommended) option. 11. Click Next. 12. Select Specify a location:. 13. Specify the location this package was extracted to in step 2. The default location for is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\PCI1520. 14. Click Next twice. 15. If Insert Disk dialog is displayed, specify the Win98 directory on CD-ROM, or local hard disk drive copy of Windows 98 and then click OK twice. 16. Click Finish. 17. Repeat from step 4 to 15 for the other Generic CardBus Controller listed in Device Manager. Unattended Install (before Windows 98/SE setup). tgt_drv:\tgt_dir: Drive Letter and temporary directory of Windows 98/SE cabinet file copied from CD-ROM. (e.g. C:\WIN98) 1. Type COPY C:\DRIVERS\W9X\SUPP\PCI1520\TI.INF tgt_drv:\tgt_dir\PCMCIA.INF and press Enter key. 2. Type COPY C:\DRIVERS\W9X\SUPP\PCI1520\TI-CBus.CAT' tgt_drv:\tgt_dir and press Enter key. [Windows Me] 1. Start Windows Me. 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, select Settings, and click Control Panel. 4. Double-click the System icon, then click the Device Manager tab. 5. Click PCMCIA socket to expand its contents. 6. Right click on Generic CardBus Controller and select Properties. 7. Click the Driver tab. 8. Click Update Driver. 9. Select "Specify the location of the driver (Advanced)" option. 10. Click "Next". 11. Select "Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now. (Recommended)". 12. Check "Specify a location:", then specify the directory name where you extracted this package PCI1520 subfolder, then click "Next". 13. Click "Next", and follow the instruction the dialog. 14. Repeat from step 4 to 13 for another "Generic CardBus Controller".
