ThinkVantage System Update can not select QFEs to install. It will install all of the QFEs in the package. Here are the ways of installation other than using the Software Installer. 1) Install all of the QFE at one time. 1. Logon with a User ID with Administrator privilege. 2. Execute OSFX31US.exe to extract this package onto the hard drive. 3. Click 'Start' -> 'Run...'. 4. Type [Program Path]\SETUP, and click OK. Program Path is the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. 2) One by one installation by "Setup Program of each QFE" Setup Program of QFE is the installation program for each QFE which is extracted to each folder when running OSFX31US.exe. The file name is xxxxxxUS.exe, where "xxxxxxx" will be QFE number. 1. Logon with a User ID with Administrator privilege. 2. Execute OSFX31US.exe to extract this package onto the hard drive. 3. Go to the folder for QFE which you want to install. Refer to "Table of Installed QFE" to know what folder you should go. 4.Execute xxxxxxUS.exe of each QFE folder. 5.Follow the instructions on the screen. [IMPORTANT NOTE] Q883517, Q83523, Q884575 and Q884868 have the dependency on Q885894. These QFE should be installed after applying Q885894 and rebooting the system. 3) Manual Uninstallation by "Add or Remove Programs". 1. Logon with a User ID of Administrator. 2. Go to Control Panel 3. Go to "Add or Remove Programs" 4. Click Remove Button of QFE which you want to remove. 5. Following the instruction on the screen. [NOTE] Q888111 and Q885894 cannot be uninstalled once they are installed into the system.
