What These Diskettes Do
-----------------------
The ThinkPad Modem Country Update Diskette will allow you to use your
ThinkPad Modem in different countries.

Installation Guide
------------------

   For Windows 3.1x or Windows NT 3.51 users:
        1. Insert ThinkPad Modem Country Update Diskette into the diskette drive.
        2. Open the Program Manager menu and select 'File' then 'Run'.
           Type 'A:\WINDOWS\SETUP', then press Enter.
        3. If you wish cancel this procedure, you may do
           so by selecting 'Exit' on the first screen. Otherwise,
           select 'Continue'.
        4. To complete this procedure, you need to restart Windows.
           If you have other programs running and you wish to
           close them first, select 'Exit to Windows'. Please note
           that you will need to restart Windows yourself to
           complete the procedure.

   For Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 users:
        1. Insert ThinkPad Modem Country Update Diskette into the diskette drive.
        2. Select the 'Start' button on the task bar and then select 'Run'.
           Type 'A:\WINDOWS\SETUP', then press Enter.
        3. If you wish cancel this procedure, you may do
           so by selecting 'Exit' on the first screen. Otherwise,
           select 'Continue'.
        4. If the Ring Central application is installed on your
           system, you may see a message telling you where you
           can download the latest application updates.
        5. To complete this procedure, you need to restart Windows.
           If you have other programs running and you wish to
           close them first, select 'Exit to Windows'. Please note
           that you will need to restart Windows yourself to
           complete the procedure.

   For OS/2 users:
        1. Insert ThinkPad Modem Country Update Diskette into the diskette drive.
        2. Open an OS/2 command prompt window.
           Type 'A:\OS2\SETUP', then press Enter,
        3. If you wish cancel this procedure, you may do
           so by selecting 'Exit' on the first screen. Otherwise,
           select 'Continue'.
        4. To complete this procedure, you need to shutdown OS/2.
           If you have other programs running and you wish to
           close them first, select 'Exit to OS/2'. Please note
           that you will need to shutdown OS/2 yourself to
           complete the procedure.

Notes on installing from a LAN (advanced users):
------------------------------------------------

        1) To install from a LAN, copy the entire
        file/directory structure on this diskette
        to the destination path.

                Example:       XCOPY A:\*.* G:\MISC\MDMENBLR\ /S

           Where A:\ is the source drive and G:\MISC\MDMENBLR is the
        destination path. The '/S' will copy all the subdirectories.

        2) There are three command-line arguments that you may
        choose from to bypass the user screen prompts. They are:

        cidautorestart- This option will not prompt the user
                        with the option to exit the installation.
                        At the end of the installation the
                        system will automatically reboot.

        cidasktorestart- This option will not prompt the user
                        with the option to exit the installation.
                        At the end of the installation the
                        user will be asked if they wish to
                        'Exit to Windows/OS2' or 'Reboot'.

        cidautoexit-    This option will not prompt the user
                        with the option to exit the installation.
                        At the end of the installation the
                        system will automatically exit to
                        Windows or OS/2.


        Example: On a Windows 95 system, to bypass the option that
                 allows the user to exit, but still ask them if
                 they want to restart Windows 95, type:

                G:\MISC\MDMENBLR\WINDOWS\SETUP CIDASKTORESTART
