What This Package Does ----------------------- This package provides the Modem Ring driver for Windows 98/Me users. The Modem Ring driver enables or updates the following functions: - When a Modem PC Card is inserted into the system, the dial tone can be enabled (heard) with the system buzzer. - When a Modem PC Card is inserted into the system, the resume on incoming call' feature can be supported. (This feature is not supported by Windows 98/Me, if PC Card Modem is used and this driver is not installed.) Start Windows 98 or Windows Me. 2. Extract the Modem Ring package onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, then click Run. 4. In the Run dialog window, type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\MODEMRNG\SETUP.EXE to install the modem ring driver. Click OK to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead. 5. Click Next to continue with the setup program. 6. Follow the procedure to complete the installation. 7. Restart the system for the driver to be effective. Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- 1. Start Windows 98 or Windows Me. 2. Click Start, then select Settings, then click Control Panel. 3. Open the Add/Remove Programs icon. 4. Click the Install/Uninstall tab. 5. Move the scrollbar on the software list to find Modem Ring x.xx. The program name has the version number (x.xx) included.
