Installation Instructions ------------------------- INSTALL: 1. Start Windows 2000 and logon with administrative privileges. 2. Extract the drivers to the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, then click Run. 4. In the Open field, type C:\DRIVERS\W2K\MODEM\MDMSETUP\SETUP.EXE and click the OK button. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead. 5. Click the Next button at the Welcome dialog screen. 6. Leave the Yes, I want to restart my computer now selection checked and click the Finish button at the Setup Complete dialog screen. 7. Allow the system to reboot. If you need to insert the modem, turn the power off the system and install the Mini-PCI Combo Modem. 8. Click the Next button in the Found New Hardware Wizard Dialog. 9. Click the Next button with Search for a suitable driver radio button selected. 10. Select Specify a Location and click Next. 11. Enter c:\winnt\options\cabs in the dialog and click OK. 12. Click Next on the dialog that has found the driver. c:\winnt\options\cabs\wdhaibf.inf 13. Click Finish. The modem is now installed. Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- 1. Start Windows 2000. 2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel. 3. Double-click the System icon. 4. Select the Hardware tab. 5. Click the Device Manager button. 6. Click the + next to Modem. 7. Double-click 3Com Mini PCI 56K Modem. 8. Select the Driver tab. 9. The File Version will be on the screen (Driver Version).
