What This Packages Does ----------------------- This package provides the Modem driver for Windows 95/98 users. INSTALL: 1. Start Windows. 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, then click Run. 4. In theh RUN dialog window, specify C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MDMLUC\SETUP.EXE and click OK. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. 6. Restart the system for the driver to be effective. UNATTENDED INSTALLATION This is for system administrators' use only. 1. Start Windows 95 or Windows 98. 2. Extract the drivers to the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, then click Run. 4. Type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MDMLUC\SETUP.EXE -S, then click OK. UNINSTALL Windows 95/98 1. Start Windows 95/98. 2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control panel. 3. Double-click Modems icon in the Control Panel. 4. Select Lucent Win Modem. 5. Click Add/Remove button. If asked to remove the modem, click the Yes button. 6. When asked to restart the system, click Yes button. If you don't remove the modem H/W, the Windows detect the modem in the next boot. Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- If there is an alphabet letters in the version number, check the date stamp of each file which version is installed. Start Windows 95/98. 2. Click Start, point to Find, then click Files or Folders. 3. Click the Name & Location tab. 4. In the Named: field, type the each file name listed above table. 5. In the Look in: field, specify Local Hard drives (C:,D:). 6. Click the Find Now button. Windows will now search your hard drive for the specified file. If the file is not found, then the Modem driver is not installed on your system. 7. In the Found part of the window, select the file name located in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM. 8. Scroll the window to the right and look at the Modified column to check the date/time of the each file. To check the driver version, 1. Start Windows 95/98 2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel. 3. Double-click Modems icon. 4. Click Diagnostics tab. 5. Select the COM port with the name Lucent Win Modem. 6. Click More Info. 7. Check Command | Response window to check the result of ATI3. The version of the driver installed is displayed.
