What This Packages Does
-----------------------
This package provides the Ethernet driver for Windows 95/98/Me/NT 4.0/
2000 users. The Ethernet driver enables or updates the Ethernet
function of the following ThinkPad computers:

  - ThinkPad 240Z  

To determine if you should update the Ethernet driver, refer to the
"Summary of Changes" section.

To update the LAN driver, refer to the "Installation Instructions" 
section.

Installation Instructions   
-------------------------
For Windows 95/98 Standard users
CLEAN INSTALL:
 1. Start Windows 95/98.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
 4. Double-click the System icon.
 5. Click Device Manager tab.
 6. Double-click the Other device.
 7. Click PCI Ethernet Controller, then click Remove.
 8. Click OK.
 9. Click Yes to restart system.
    After restart, Add New Hardware Wizard runs.
10. Click Next, then click Next again.
11. Check off Specify a location and type in C:\DRIVERS\WIN\LAN,
    then click Next.
12. Follow the instructions on the screen.
13. Click Finish.
14. Click Yes to restart system.

UPGRADE INSTALL Windows 95 only
 1. Start Windows 95.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
 4. Double-click the System icon.
 5. Click Device Manager tab.
 6. Double-click Network Adapters device.
 7. Click Intel(R) PRO/100+ MiniPCI, then click Properties.
 8. Click the Driver tab, then click Update Driver.
    Update Device Driver Wizard runs.
 9. Click No, select driver from list, and click Next.
10. Click Have Disk.
11. Type in C:\DRIVERS\WIN\LAN and click OK.
12. Click Intel(R) PRO/100+ MiniPCI, then click OK.
13. Follow the instructions on the screen.
    If Intel(R) PRO/100+ MiniPCI Has a ROM window appeared, click
    Test.
14. After finished installation, close all windows, and restart the
    computer.

UPGRADE INSTALL Windows 98 Standard users only
 1. Start Windows 98.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
 4. Double-click the System icon.
 5. Click Device Manager tab.
 6. Double-click Network Adapters device.
 7. Click Intel(R) PRO/100+ MiniPCI, then click Properties.
 8. Click the Driver tab, then click Update Driver.
    Update Device Driver Wizard runs.
 9. Click Next, and then click Next.
10. Click Specify a location and type in C:\DRIVERS\WIN\LAN, then
    click Next.
11. Follow the instructions on the screen.
12. Click Finish to restart the computer.

UNINSTALL:
 1. Start Windows 95/98.
 2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
 3. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
 4. Select Intel(R) PRO Ethernet Adapter and software.
 5. Click Add/Remove, and click OK.
 6. Click Yes, then the system will restart.


For Windows 98 SE users
CLEAN INSTALL:
 1. Start Windows 98 SE.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
 4. Double-click the System icon.
 5. Click Device Manager tab.
 6. Double-click the Network Adapters.
 7. Click like about Intel PCI Ethernet Adapter, then click Remove.
 8. Click OK.
 9. Click Yes to restart system.  
    After restart, Add New Hardware Wizard runs.
10. Click Next, then click Next again.
11. Check off Specify a location and type in C:\DRIVERS\WIN\LAN,
    then click Next.
12. Follow the instructions on the screen.
13. Click Finish.
14. Click Yes to restart system.

UPGRADE INSTALL:
 1. Start Windows 98 SE.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
 4. Double-click the System icon.
 5. Click Device Manager tab.
 6. Double-click the Network Adapters.

 6. Click Yes, then the system will restart.


For Windows Me users
CLEAN INSTALL:
 1. Start Windows Me.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
 4. Double-click the System icon.
 5. Click Device Manager tab.
 6. Double-click the Network Adapters.
 7. Click like about Intel PCI Ethernet Adapter, then click Remove.
 8. Click OK.
 9. Click Yes to restart system.
    After restart, Add New Hardware Wizard runs.
10. Select Specify the location...(Advanced), and click Next.
11. Check off Specify a location, and type in C:\DRIVERS\WIN\LAN,
    then click Next.
12. Follow the instructions on the screen.

INSTALL (if network setting already exists):
 1. Start Windows NT 4.0 and log on with the user ID authorized as
    an administrator.
 2. Extract this package to the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
 4. Double-click the Network icon.
 5. Click the Adapters tab, then click Add.
 6. Click Have Disk.
 7. Type in C:\DRIVERS\WIN\LAN  in the Open box and click OK.
 8. Click Intel[R] PRO/100+ MiniPCI, then click OK.
 9. Click Close.
10. Setup by user requirement and restart the system.

INSTALL (if network setting does not exist):
 1. Start Windows NT 4.0 and log on with the user ID authorized as
    an administrator.
 2. Extract this package to the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
 4. Double-click the Network icon.
 5. Click Yes, then click Next.
 6. Click Select from list.
 7. Click Have Disk.
 8. Type in C:\DRIVERS\WIN\LAN in the Open box, then click OK.
 9. Click Intel[R] PRO/100+ MiniPCI, then click OK.
10. Click Next.
11. Setup by user requirement and restart the system.

UPGRADE INSTALL:
 To upgrade the driver, follow the UNINSTALL: procedures first to
 uninstall the driver, and then follow the CLEAN INSTALL (if network
 setting already exists): procedures.

UNINSTALL:
 1. Start Windows NT 4.0 and log on with the user ID authorized as
    an administrator.
 2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
 3. Double-click the Network icon.
 4. Click the Adapters tab.
 5. Select Intel[R] PRO/100+ MiniPCI.
 6. Click Remove.
 7. Click Yes, then click Yes.
 8. Click Close.
 9. Click Yes, and the system will restart.


For Windows 2000 users
INSTALL/UPGRADE INSTALL:
 1. Start Windows 2000 and log on with the user ID authorized as
    an administrator.
 2. Extract this package to the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
 4. Double-click the System icon.
 5. Click the Hardware tab, then the Device Manager button.
 6. Double-click the Network Adapters icon.
 7. Select and right-click Intel PCI Ethernet Adapter,
    then click Properties.
 8. Click Driver tab.
 9. Click Update Driver.
10. Click Next, then click Next again.
11. Select Specify a location, then click Next.
12. Type in C:\DRIVERS\WIN\LAN  in command line, then click OK.
13. Click Next.
14. Click Yes.
15. Click Finished.
16. Click Start, then click Shutdown to restart the system.

UNINSTALL:
 1. Start Windows 2000 and log on with the user ID authorized as
    an administrator.
 2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
 3. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
 4. Select Intel(R) PRO Ethernet Adapter and software.
 5. Click Add/Remove, and click OK.
 6. Click Yes. The system will restart.


For Windows 95/98/Me/NT 4.0/2000 users
Determining which version is installed 
--------------------------------------
 1. Start Windows.
 2. Double-click Intel(R) PROSet icon in the system tray.
 3. Select Network Driver tab.
 4. You can find version here.
