IBM ThinkPad November 3, 2000 Service Partition Repair diskette Version 2.00 ====================================================================== What This Diskette Does ----------------------- This diskette contains the program to create a Recovery Repair diskette for the ThinkPad X20. You may be able to restore access to the IBM Product Recovery program on the hard disk by using the Recovery Repair diskette if the IBM Service/Disk-to-Disk partition has not been damaged. Download d2dfdfix.exe file to create a Service Partition Repair Diskette. A high density floppy diskette that will be overwritten is required. 2. Insert the Service Partition Repair Diskette into an optional floppy drive attached to the ThinkPad X20, and boot the computer. 3. During the repair process, you will be prompt to "Press any key to continue" multiple times. Close attention to the instructions on the screen is required. 4. A prompt will appear during the first part of the repair, "Leave diskette installed and press any key to automatically reboot system", at which time the repair diskette should remain in the floppy drive! 5. When the second and final part of the repair has completed, "Update Process completed successfully. Please remove diskette and reboot system." will appear on the screen. Remove the diskette and press the CTRL-ALT-DEL keys to reboot the machine. 6. When "To Start the Product Recovery Program.." appears at the top of the screen press the F11 key. 7.
