What This Package Does

This package provides the Ethernet driver for DOS users.

This release supports the following systems:

   - ThinkPad R40e(*1)

   NOTE:
     *1: Only Link speed 10/100 is supported.

To determine if you need to update the Ethernet driver, refer to
the "Summary of Changes" section below.

To update the Ethernet driver, refer to the "Installation 
instructions" section below.

Installation Instructions
-------------------------

Unattended Installation

DOS driver for unattended installation:
For customers who need unattended installation, the DOS driver
(B57.DOS) is included in the NDIS2 sub-directory of this package.
Unattended installation instructions are also included in 
the "Unattended" sub-directory of the driver package for Windows XP.
The DOS driver can be used only for this purpose.


Determine which version is installed for Gigabit Ethernet
---------------------------------------------------------

DOS NDIS2:  B57.dos         6.30
DOS ODI:    B57.com         5.01

To check the version of the device driver that is installed on your
system, follow the instructions below:

DOS NDIS2:
1. Find the file B57.dos (10/100 Ethernet).
2. To determine if a driver update is needed, check the date of the
   driver file.  If the date is older than the date below, then you 
   need to update your driver.

1. Find the file B57.COM (10/100 Ethernet).
2. Execute it in DOS environment, it shows the following version 
   information. 
        "BroadCom Gigabit Ethernet MLID v5.01 (121302)"
