What This Package Does ----------------------- This package provides the modem driver for Windows XP. Determining which version is extracted, 3.1.97 or 3.1.97a --------------------------------------------------------- Please check the date stamp of the file which release version is extracted on the hard disk drive. Click Start, select Search, and then click All files and folders. 3. In the All or part of the file named: field, type the file name listed above table. 4. Click the Find Now button. Windows will now search your hard disk drive for the specified file. If the file is not found, then the Modem driver is not extracted on your system. 5. In the Found part of the window, check the date/time of the file and compare them with the values in the above list. Installation instructions ------------------------- NOTE: Install new ALi audio driver (version 5.12.01.5170 or later) prior to the modem driver to replace the native audio driver under Windows XP. <3.1.97> 1. Start Windows XP and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator. 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, then click Control Panel. 4. Click the Performance and Maintenance icon. 5. Click the System icon. 6. Click the Hardware tab. 7. Click the Device Manager button. 8. Click the + mark of Modems to expand the Modems section. 9. Double click the Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR. 10. Click the Driver tab. 11. Click the Update Driver button. 12. Select Install from a list or specific location(Advanced), and click the Next button. 13. Select Don't search. I will choose the driver to install, and click the Next button. 14. Click the Have Disk button. 15. In Copy manufacturer's files from, specify the path where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click the OK button. 16. Click the Next button. 17. Click the Finish button when the installation completes. <3.1.97a> 1. Start Windows XP and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator. 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, then click Run. 4. Type C:\DRIVERS\WXP\MODEM\SETUP.EXE in the Open box and click the OK button. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. 6. If the Hardware Installation window appears, click Continue Anyway. 7. Restart the system for the driver to take effect. Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- 1. Start Windows XP. 2. Click Start, then click Control Panel. 3. Click the Performance and Maintenance icon. 4. Click the System icon. 4. Click the Hardware tab. 5. Click the Device Manager button. 6. Expand the Modem section. 7. Select Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR. 8. Right-click Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR, and select Properties. 9. Click the Driver tab. Then click the Driver Details button. 10. Click ltsm.sys from the Driver files list.
