This package enables or updates the audio function of the following ThinkPad computers: - ThinkPad 570,570E To determine if you need to update the audio driver, refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. Start Windows NT 4.0 and logon with administrative privileges. 2. Extract the audio drivers for Windows NT to the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel. 4. Double-click the Multimedia icon. The Multimedia Properties window will appear. 5. Click the Devices tab. 6. Expand Audio Devices. 7. If Audio for SoundFusion(TM) is not listed, skip to step 8 else select it and click the Remove button. When prompted to restart the system, click Yes, Restart Now. 8. Click the Add button. The Add window will appear. 9. In the List of Drivers box, select Unlisted or Updated Driver and click the OK button. 10. In the Install Driver window, type C:\DRIVERS\WNT\AUDIO. If you extracted the drivers to a different location, specify that location instead. Click the OK button. 11. In the driver list window that appears, select the SoundFusion(TM) Audio device and click OK button. 12. When prompted, restart Windows NT to make the changes effective. Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- 1. Click Start, point to Find, then click Files or Folders. 2. Click the Name & Location tab. 3. In the Named: field, type cwcmmsys.dll. 4. In the Look in: field, specify Local Hard drives (C:,D:). 5. Click the Find Now button. If you do not find the file then the driver is not installed. 6. Right-click on the file name found in %WNT%\SYSTEM32 directory. Where %WNT% is the drive and directory that Windows NT was installed in. 7. Click the Properties button. 8. Click the Version tab.
