Installation Instructions ------------------------- Windows 98 1. Start Windows 98. 2. Extract this package to the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel. 4. Double click Add New Hardware. 5. Click Next, then click Next, then click Next. 6. Select Search for the best driver for your device. 7. Click Next. 8. Specify the location with full path you extracted the files to in step 2 and click Next. 9. The updated driver will be found, then click Next. 10. Click Finish. 11. Select Yes, I am finished installing devices, then click Next. 12. Click Finish, and restart the system. The new setting will take effect after reboot. Windows Me 1. Start Windows Me. 2. Extract this package to the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel. 4. Double click the System icon. 5. Click the Device Manager tab. 6. Double-click PCI Multimedia Audio Device. 7. Click Reinstall Driver in PCI Multimedia Audio Device Properties. 8. Click Specify the location of the driver (Advanced), and click Next. 9. Select Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want and click Next. 10. Click Have Disk. 11. Specify the directory where the driver files are extracted. Then click OK. 12. Select Audio Feature (WDM) (CS4281) for Windows 98 and then click Next. 13. When the installation competes, click Finish . 14. Close all windows and restart the system. The new setting will take effect after restart. Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- 1. Start Windows 98/Me. 2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel. 3. Double click the System icon. 4. Click the Device Manager tab. 5. Double click the Sound, video and game controller section. 6. Double click Crystal SoundFusion(tm) CS4281 WDM Audio. 7. Click the Driver tab. 8. Click the Driver File Details button. The version is displayed in the software version line.
