What This Package Does ---------------------- This package provides the audio driver for Windows 95/98 users. The audio driver enables or updates the audio function of the following ThinkPad computers: - ThinkPad X20, X21 To determine if you should update the audio driver, refer to the Summary of Changes section. To update the audio driver, refer to the Installation instructions section. Released Versions ----------------- Version 5.018 - Initial release for ThinkPad X20 - Support for ThinkPad X21 (added). Installation instructions ------------------------- NOTE: - To determine if you should update the audio driver, refer to the Summary of Changes section. - If installing to Windows 95, confirm DirectX 5.0 or later is installed. Install: 1. Start Windows 95/98. 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, then click Run. 4. Specify the installation program SETUP.EXE with full path you extracted the file to in step 2 and click OK. 5. Click the Uninstall Crystal Driver button at the pop-up window, and then select Shut Down. 6. Restart Windows 95/98. 7. When Windows 95/98 detects New Hardware, click Next. It will then detect Crystal CS4281 PCI Audio. Click Next. 8. Specify the location of the Disk by the path name in the step 2 and click Next. If you are asked, specify the location of the Disk in Copy files from: list and click OK. The file copy starts. 9. After the installation of Crystal CS4281 PCI Audio, click Finish. The system will detect New Hardware. Determining which version is installed: 1. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel. 2. Double-click the System icon. 3. Click the Device Manager tab. 4. Click the Sound, video and game controller section. 5. Select Crystal CS4281 PCI Audio and click the Properties button. 6. Click the Driver tab. 7. Click the Driver File Details button. 8. Find and click CWRMMSYS.DRV. 9. File version column shows the driver version.
