This package enables the audio function of the following ThinkPad computers: - ThinkPad A20m/p, A21m/p, A22m/p, T20, T21, T22 A22e Pentium Model To enable the audio driver, refer to the "Installation Instructions" section. Released Version ---------------- Version PS2084b Summary of Changes ------------------ Where: Package version (for example, 1.00 means Version 1.00) (New) New function or enhancement (Fix) Correction to existing function - (New) Support for ThinkPad A20m, A20p, T20 - (Fix) Hang up at restarting ThinkPads after recovered from a recovery CD. - (New) Support for ThinkPad A21m, A21p, T21, A22m, A22p, T22 A22e Pentium Model Only an installation program has been changed from previous release. No need to update with this version if previous PS2084b already installed. Installation Instructions ------------------------- 1. Extract the Audio Support to Windows NT. Double-click setup.exe. The startup message appears and then disappears. 2. A Dialog box appears welcoming you to the installer. Click Next. A Dialog box appears showing the progress as Setup copies the driver files to the startup disk. 3. Then a dialog box appears telling you that the installation is complete. Click Yes, I want to restart my computer now, and then click Finish. Your computer restarts and loads the new driver. Updating the Audio Support Software for Windows NT 4.0 ------------------------------------------------------- 1. Extract the Audio Support to Windows NT. Double-click setup.exe. The startup message appears and then disappears. 2. Then a dialog box appears welcoming you to the installer and telling you that a driver is already installed. Click Next. 3. A dialog box appears asking you whether you want to update or remove the existing driver. Click Update, and then click Next. 4 Setup marks the driver files for deletion. Then a dialog box appears telling you that the first half of the update is complete. Click Yes, I want to restart my computer now, and then click Finish 5. A dialog box appears reminding you that Setup will automatically run again to finish the update after your computer restarts. Click OK. Your computer restarts and deletes the driver files that were marked for deletion. Then Setup runs automatically to install the new driver. A dialog box appears showing the progress as Setup copies the driver files to the startup disk. 6. Then a dialog box appears telling you that the second half of the update is complete. Click Yes, I want to restart my computer now, and then click Finish. Your computer restarts and loads the new driver. Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- 1. Double click My Computer, click View, click Options, click the Select View tab, then check Show all files. Select the file specified the step below. 2. Right click \WinNT\system32\drivers\cwcmmsys.sys and select Properties. 3. Select Version tab and confirm the File version is 4.01.2084.
