You may need to re-enter security information after updating the Wireless LAN driver. 5. If you use Single Sign-On with the following authentications, ThinkVantage Access Connections version 4.22 or higher is needed. - LEAP on Windows XP - LEAP, EAP-TLS and PEAP-CHAP on Windows 2000 6. [Specification changes] 2200BG/2915ABG Network Connection will report lower signal strength than with previous driver versions. Because the 2200BG/2915ABG methodology was changed to be more accurate and responsive, similar to the 3945BG/3945ABG. However, wireless network performance and functions are not affected at all by this change. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Notes: If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section. Manual Install This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Explorer. Downloading files 1. Click once on the underlined file name with the left mouse button. Once this is done, a pop-up window will appear. 2. In this pop-up window, choose (using the left mouse button) the directory you would like to download the file to and click the "Save" button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete without your assistance. 3. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully. 4. After being downloaded, the file will need to be extracted. Extracting files 5. Locate the directory where the file was downloaded. 6. Locate the file that was just downloaded and double click it using the left mouse button. 7. The file will begin to extract in the directory where the downloaded file is located. Install files 8. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges. 9. Open an Explorer and locate the directory where the files were extracted. 10. Double-click XP, and Apps, and then x32. 11. Double-click iProInst.EXE file. 12. Follow the instructions on the screen. Note: If you use ThinkVantage Access Connections, Intel PROSet/Wireless component needs to be installed as pre-selected during the above procedure. 13. Restart the computer *TWICE*. Finally delete the file saved in the step 2. Unattended Install This is for system administrators' use only. - Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and expand the files. - At the command line, execute iProInst.EXE with the /QI option.
