What This Package Does ---------------------- This package provides ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate software for Windows 2000/XP. ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software enables or updates the Bluetooth functions of the following ThinkPad computers integrated with Bluetooth function. Open My Bluetooth Places. 2. Select Help, then select About My Bluetooth Places. 3. The first line of pop-up window shows the version of the software. "My Bluetooth Places 5.1.0.3100" The driver version of "ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate" in the device manager is 5.1.0.2900. Installation Instructions ------------------------- If any previous or current ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software is already installed on your ThinkPad, uninstall the software in Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel before installation. Uninstallation instructions 1. In Windows XP, click Start, click Control Panel, then double-click Add or Remove Programs. In Windows 2000, click Start, select Settings, select Control Panel, then double-click Add/Remove Programs. 2. Select ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software and click Change/Remove. 3. In the prompt 'Are you sure you want to remove ThinkPad Bluetooth with Ehnanced Data Rate Software from your computer?' appears, click Yes. The uninstallation will start. 4. Click OK, to restart the system. Installation instructions Note 1: During the installation, please do not touch the keyboard, the trackpoint, and the mouse. Note 2: Software Installer provides install/(uninstall) wizard for this package. Before using Software Installer, you have to uninstall the previous or current software using Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel or using Software Installer. Note 3: Some of the virtual devices are installed when you use the Bluetooth software for the first time after you install it. Wait for a while until the virtual devices installation completes. 1. Start Windows XP, 2000 and logon with administrative privileges. 2. Press Fn and F5 at the same time to turn on Bluetooth. 3. If 'Found New Hardware Wizard' is displayed, click Cancel. 4. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive. The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\TPBTOOTH 5. Click Start, then click Run... 6. Specify "SETUP.EXE" with the full path name where you extracted the package in step 4, and click OK. Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\TPBTOOTH\SETUP.EXE 7. In "Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software" window, click Next. 8. In the "License Agreement" window, read the Licence Agreement carefully, if you agree, select "I accept the terms in the licence agreement" then click Next. 9. In the Destination Folder window, click Next. (If you need to change the destination, click Change, select or enter the destination folder of your choice, then click Next.) 10. In the "Ready to Install the Program" window, click Install. 11. When "Driver Signature Notice" window appears, click OK. 12. When "InstallShield Wizard Completed" appears, click Finish. 13. If you are asked to restart the system, click Yes to restart. Unattended installation ----------------------- This is for system administrators' use only. 1. Start Windows 2000/XP, logon with administrative privileges. 2. Extract the drivers to the hard drive. 3. Click Start, then click Run. 4.
