The TPM driver enables or updates the TPM functions on the following ThinkPad computers. Start Windows 2000. 2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel. 3. Double-click the System icon. 4. Click the Hardware tab, then click Device Manager. 5. Expand the System devices category and right click Atmel Tpm Pnp Device in System devices and click Properties. 6. Click the Driver tab, click Update Driver, then click Next. 7. Select Search for a suitable driver for my device then click Next. 8. Select Specify a location only, then click Next. 9. Click Browse, locate the driver, then click Open. The default location for this driver is: C:\Drivers\Win\TPMATMEL. 10. Click OK, click Next, then click Finish. CLEAN INSTALL: (Found New Hardware Wizard) If it is the first time booting to Windows 2000, the operating system detects the TPM Device automatically. To install the device driver, follow the instructions below: 1. Start Windows 2000. The Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box will appear. 2. Click Next. 3. Select Search for a suitable driver for my device, then click Next. 4. Select Specify a location only, then click Next. 5. Click Browse, locate the driver, then click Open. The default location for this driver is: C:\Drivers\Win\TPMATMEL. 5. Click OK, click Next, then click Finish. CLEAN INSTALL: (Unknown device in Other or System devices) Windows 2000 detected the TPM Device, but was not able to locate a suitable device driver. In this case, you will see an Unknown device in the Other devices or the System devices category in Device Manager. To install the driver, follow the instructions below: 1. Start Windows 2000. 2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel. 3. Double-click the System icon. 4. Click the Hardware tab then click Device Manager. 5. Right-click Unknown device in Other devices or System devices and click Properties. 6. Click the Driver tab, click Update Driver, then click Next. 7. Select Search for a suitable driver for my device then click Next. 8. Select Specify a location only then click Next. 9. Click Browse, locate the driver, and click Open.
