MANUAL INSTALL: Windows Vista 1. Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges. 2. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, and then click Run. 3. Click Browse, click Folders in the lower left pane, and then click Computer in the left pane. 4. Select the folder where package is stored. 5. Select Setup.exe. 6. In the Device Driver Installation Wizard window, click OK. 7. The device driver will be installed automatically. 8. The NetWaiting program installation starts automatically. 8-1. In the "Welcome to..." window, click Next. 8-2. In the "License Agreement" window, read the contents carefully and click Yes. 8-3. In the "Choose Destination Location" window, click Next. Windows XP and Windows 2000 1. Start Windows XP or Windows 2000 and logon with administrative privileges. 2. Click Start, and then click Run. 3. Click Browse. 4. If the message, "Digital Signature Not Found" appears, click the OK button to continue installing. 8. The NetWaiting program installation starts automatically. 8-1. If needed, restart the system. Windows XP 1. Start Windows, and logon with administrative privileges. 2. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs. 3. Select ThinkPad Integrated 56K Modem. 4. Click the Change/Remove button. Device Driver will be uninstalled automatically. Uninstallation of the NetWaiting software will start automatically. In the "Confirm Uninstall" window, click OK. NetWaiting will be uninstalled. Uninstallation of the Digital Line Detect software will start automatically. In the "Confirm Uninstall" window, click OK. The Digital Line Detect software will be uninstalled. 5. If needed, restart the system. Windows 2000 1. Start Windows, and logon with administrative privileges. 2. Click Start, click Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs. 3. Select ThinkPad Integrated 56K Modem. 4. Click the Change/Remove button. Device Driver will be uninstalled automatically. Uninstallation of the NetWaiting software will start automatically. In the "Confirm Uninstall" window, click OK. NetWaiting will be uninstalled. Uninstallation of the Digital Line Detect software will start automatically. In the "Confirm Uninstall" window, click OK. The Digital Line Detect software will be uninstalled. 5. If needed, restart the system. -------------------------------------- Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- For Windows Vista 1. Start Windows Vista 2. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Hardware ans Sound, and then click Device Manager. * If User Account Control warning pop-up open, click Continue 3. Double-click Modems. 4. Double-click ThinkPad Modem. 5. Click the Diagnostics tab. 6. Click Query Modem. 7. Check the information for ATI3. For Windows XP 1. Start Windows XP 2. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System. 3. Click the Hardware tab. 4. Click the Device Manager button. 5. Double-click Modems. 6. Double-click ThinkPad Modem. 7. Click the Diagnostics tab. 8. Click Query Modem. 9. Check the information for ATI3. For Windows 2000 1. Start Windows 2000 2. Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel. 3. Double-Click System. 4. Click Hardware, and then click Device Manager. 6. Double-click Modems. 7. Double-click ThinkPad Modem. 8. Click the Diagnostics tab. 9. Click Query Modem. 10. Check the information for ATI3. ------------------------------------------ Using Modem on Hold (MoH) and Fast Connect ------------------------------------------ Notes: - To use these functions, you need a telephone line that has the call waiting function and the caller ID function, which each country or region sets independently. You also have to Connect to an ISP access point that is compatible with these function. Check with your ISP. - The MoH function has been tested and shown to work in the United States and Canada. It may not work correctly in other countries. - The Fast Connect function works well if you dial to the same phone number from only one place. Otherwise, it is better to disable the Fast Connect function. - To use the Modem on Hold and Fast Connect function, you have to run the Modem on Hold application first and enable each function by the following procedure: 1. Click Start, select All Programs, select NetWaiting, and click Netwaiting. 2. Right-click the NetWaiting icon in the task tray and click Setting. 3.
