This package have contents for each operating system - Windows 98/98 SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. If you use the preload environment, you do not need this package. This package is required when you install Windows OS without the preload image. To determine if you should update this driver, refer to the Summary of Changes section. To update this driver, refer to the Installation Guide section. Extract this package to your hard drive. 2. Right-click the desktop and select Properties from the pop up menu. 3. Select the Settings tab. 4. Click the Advanced button. 5. Select the Monitor tab. 6. Click the Properties button. 7. Select the Driver tab and click the Update Driver button, the Hardware Update wizard starts. 8. Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click the Next button. 9. Select "Don't search, I will chose the driver to install" and click the Next button. 10. Click the "Have Disk" button. 11. Click the Browse button. 12. Change the disk directory to C:\Drivers\WIN\MONITOR\WINXP, then click Next. 13. Select IBMTPLCD.INF, click Open, then click OK. 14. Check Show compatible hardware. 15. Select the panel from the list you are currently using, 16. Click Finish, then click Close. 17. Click the Color Management tab. 18. Click the Add button and select IBMTPFLX.ICM or IBMTPLCD.ICM. 19. Click the Add button and close the Display Properties. Description for SILENT INSTALLATION for Windows XP: 1.Create or Add the following lines under the [Unattended] section in an Unattend.txt. OemPnPDriversPath="folder for ICC Color Profile" For example, OemPnPDriversPath="DRIVERS\OTHER" 2.Create the folder with the name of "folder for ICC Color Profile". For example, c:\DRIVERS\OTHER 3.Put all the files in the folder created above. Files are: IBMTPFLX.ICM IBMTPLCD.CAT IBMTPLCD.ICM IBMTPLCD.INF Windows 2000: 1. Extract this package to your hard drive. 2. Plug and Play Manager detects your new monitor device "IBM ThinkPad LCD Panel", click OK, then click Finish. 3. Change the disk directory to C:\Drivers\WIN\MONITOR\WIN2000, and click Finish, then click Close. 4. Right-click the desktop and select Properties from the pop up menu. 5. Select Settings. 6. Click Advanced. 7. Click Color Management. 8. Click Add and select IBMTPLCD.ICM or IBMTPFLX.ICM. 9. Click OK. Select the panel from the list you are using now. 11. Click Apply. Note: Windows Me does not have unattended installation function because it is a consumer operating system. Windows 98/98 SE: 1. Extract this package onto the hard drive. 2. Right-click the desktop and select Properties from the pop up menu. 3. Click Advanced. 4. Select the Monitor tab and click Change. 5. Click Have Disk... 6. Specify C:\Drivers\WIN\MONITOR\WIN98 then click OK. 7. Select ibmtplcd.inf and click OK. 8. Select the panel from the list you are using now. 9. Click Apply.
