IBM Fujitsu PB-15H hard disk drive firmware update version 5C-18 README This package performs a flash update of the firmware that controls the Fujitsu hard disk drive which might have come preinstalled in your IBM(R) computer. A blank 1.44MB 3.5-inch diskette will be needed. This firmware update should be applied to any IBM system that contains a Fujitsu PB-15H drive of capacity 10.1 GB, 13.5 GB, 15.0 GB, or 20.4 GB with part numbers 09N0973, 09N0974, 09N0975, or 09N0976. In order to successfully apply the update, make sure the hard disk drive is configured as the primary master. The following IBM systems may have shipped with the Fujitsu PB-15H hard drive. 2178, 2198, 6263, 6265, 6267, 6268, 6275, 6277, 6278, 6285, 6287, 6288, 6338, 6563, 6564, 6565, 6566, 6574, 6584, 6593, 6594, 6595, 6862, 6865, 6866, 6867, 6868, 6872, 6878, 6889, 6890, 6892, 6893, 6897. NOTE: Firmware is programming that controls low-level hardware operations internal to the hard disk drive. The firmware is stored on a chip. Your hard disk drive uses flash ROM's, which can be updated through a program on a flash diskette so that you do not have to replace the firmware chip to update the firmware. Downloading the update ---------------------- 1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page. 2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file.
