There is a program called DOS5PFIX.COM in directory 4 that will fix a problem with DOS Version 5.0. Some packages of DOS 5.0 incorrectly mark 32MB C drives as "large media" during installation. This means that DOS Version 3.X would not be able to access the drive. The C drive MUST be exactly 32MB for the problem to occur. The program only checks the "MASTER BOOT RECORD" for a System Indicator Byte of 6 (which indicates large media). It does not check which version of DOS is on the drive. Therefore, you should not run this program unless you have the problem.
