Product Specifications Overview -------- Using the IBM ARTIC Support for IP Over X.25 on Windows 2000 (hereafter referred to as IP Support), users of the following operating systems can create client-host WAN connectivity for IP applications using X.25: - Windows 2000 Professional, Release Candidate 2 This software will connect two remote machines via an X.25 network and allow them to use the widely available IP utilities and applications to communicate, instead of forcing X.25 specific application development. Users and applications may use existing Windows 2000 interfaces to ping, ftp, telnet etc. between two remote machines, client or server, without specific X.25 development. The IP Support conforms to RFC1356 and upon installation the user can configure IP addresses and X.25 NUAs in such a way that attempting to send IP datagrams to a configured remote IP address causes a virtual circuit establishment and the subsequent transmission of the application's datagrams. The IP Support is written as an NDIS 5.0-compliant miniport driver. IBM ARTIC Adapters Supported ---------------------------- - IBM ARTIC X.25 ISA Adapter - IBM ARTIC X.25 PCI Adapter The ARTIC X.25 adapters support the following three electrical interfaces: - X.21 - X.21/bis (V.35) - X.21/bis (V.24) Software Requirements --------------------- - Windows 2000 Professional, Release Candidate 2 Note: A new version of this IP Support package will be forthcoming to support the final release version of Windows 2000.
