LTKTxxA is the flash image level. (BIOS) NOTE: All changes carry forward. That is, if a change is added in 7, it is also in 8, 9, etc... --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Changes for LTKT/LTJT16A 08/12/96 * Fixed problem with post errors when IBM 16 bit AT Fast SCSI card is installed in an ISA slot. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Changes for LTKT/LTJT15A 04/17/96 * Fixed "CMOS Date and Time not set" error falsely occuring on the dates of October 20 thru 31 and December 30 and 31. If the user corrects the date in the setup program to one of the problem dates and then exits setup, they come right back to the "Date and time not set" error (I.E., the user is trapped in a loop.) This bug is present in flash levels 13 and 14. IF YOU ARE AT EITHER FLASH LEVEL 13 OR 14 IT IS MANDATORY THAT YOU APPLY THIS UPDATE BEFORE THE DATE(S) THAT TRIGGER THIS PROBLEM. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Changes for LTKT/LTJT14A 02/23/96 * Fixed anomolies in Date/Time field and enabled numeric entry of year for all languages including Japan. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Changes for LTKT/LTJT13A 02/15/96 * Changed IRQ allocation priority so that IRQ 9 and IRQ 5 will be allocated before any dynamic motherboard resources. This fixes a problem where certain PnP cards will consume IRQ 12 before mouse initialization. * Added a default of zeros for an invalid date and also added checking for a valid day field at power on. * New method of checking RTC battery bit for CMOS validation. * Added code to clear the shutdown byte in the RTC during a cold boot. * Corrected an excessive delay occuring with Sony CDU77E CD-ROM drives prior to boot. * Incorporated a new code for the Pentium Pro C0 stepping. * Added code to zero all conventional memory prior to boot. This change fixes an issue with the installation of Novell Unixware 2.01 using uninitialized data. * Fixed Japanese setup not booting from scsi hardfile --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Changes for LTKT/LTJT11A 01/22/96 * Added support for the 450 B0 chip - Indicate that Bus Mastering is supported. - Enabled inbound and outbound posting for PCI. - Enabled certain PCI Prefetching features. - Enabled PCI Lock when a bridge is present. * Fixed a memory test condition when parity and non-parity SIMMs are present in a single interleave. * Added Fault Tolerance for all ESCD Block Flash Writes. * Fixed Token Ring II with RIPL EPROM problem * Fixed erroneous error reporting for a COM device node. * Added code to force PPEC add-in card's IDE function to be disabled. * Corrected problem when CD-ROM drive alone was on secondary channel. * Corrected identification and sizing asymetric SIMMs. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Changes for LTKT/LTJT10A 12/12/95 * Preset IRQ 12 selection to "Allocated by the system" in ISA Legacy resources when a mouse is present. * Corrected a hang condition when invoking Japanese Setup with the floppy drive disabled or not installed. * Incorporated a change for resource allocation priority when using a PnP operating system. Now the OS will be responsible for allocating PnP resources rather than the BIOS. * Corrected several anomalies with min/max checking when entering the time and date inside Setup. * Changed format and filenames on the DBE distribution diskette. * Addressed several translation issues with French, Spanish, and Japanese. * Fixed up the Japanese background display in Setup to work around an observed side effect when tiling odd sized pattern fonts. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Changes for LTKT/LTJT09A 11/15/95 * Disabled PCI outbound posted writes due to observed compatibility issues. * Changed both IDE controller device nodes to indicate that Bus Mastering is not supported. This should prevent any drivers from using this feature. * Turned on a feature that provides enhanced PCI performance capabilities. * Reduced floppy drive interrupt timeout so that the Diskette Drive Security feature will not create excessive waits. * Removed the 2.88 MB floppy format selection from Setup until perpendicular mode can be modified. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Changes for LTKT/LTJT08A 11/10/95 * Modified the Flash Update Utility to only install DBE Files to the hard drive when a /J switch is present on the command line. * Added dynamic help text for IDE CD-ROM Drives, and changed miscellaneous translations. * Corrected the hang condition resulting from an Int 14h, Function 05h, Subfunction 01h BIOS call. * Blocked a hole in the DBE error handler that caused valid DBE Files not to be recognized after the first attempt to load files from disk. * Changed ISA Legacy Memory Resources C0000h-C7FFFh to Allocated by the System in Setup by default. * Increased the DIM memory buffer to handle option ROMs up to 94 KB. * Incorporated new KBC wait routines that alleviate potential problems with the Token Ring II adapter interface. * Incorporated a patch to allow the Matsushita CD-ROM to boot correctly. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Changes for LTKT/LTJT07A 11/01/95 Initial release of code. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
