**********Description*********** This update package installs an update package for the DVD player on the 2161-C3D You should print this file before continuing. ************Downloading the DVD drivers and software************ 1. Double-click the My Computer icon. 2. Double-click the icon representing the C: drive. 3. Click File -> New -> Folder. 4. Type DVDUP, then press Enter. 5. Click the file link to download c3ddvdup.exe to the C:\DVDUP directory you just created. 6. Click Start -> Run. 7. Type C:\DVDUP\c3ddvdup, then click OK. This will extract the necessary files into the C:\DVDUP directory. WARNING: As with any software update or upgrade, IBM STRONGLY recommends that you take the time to backup any critical data you may have. ************Installing the updated Cinemaster drivers************ 1. Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel. 2. Double-click the System icon. 3. Click the tab labeled Device Manager. 4. Click the '+' next to Sound, video and game controllers to expand the selection. 5. Highlight Cinemaster, then click Properties. 6. Click the tab labeled Drivers. 7. Click the button labeled Update Driver. Microsoft Windows 95 will ask if you wish to let Windows locate the driver. 8. Click the radio button to the left of "yes", then click Next. Windows 95 will state that it couldn't find the Cinemaster drivers on the diskette. 9. Click the button labeled Other Locations. 10. Type C:\DVDUP in the dialog box, then click OK. 11. Click Finish when Windows 95 asks if you wish to install the Cinemaster driver. Windows 95 will copy the updated files to the proper locations. 12. When the files have been compied, click Yes to restart the computer. ************Installing the updated DVD player software************ 1. Click Start -> Run. 2. Type C:\DVDUP\setup, then click OK. 3. Click Next when the Welcome screen appears. The readme and license agreement will appear. 4. Click Next. 5. Enter the User's Name and Company Name, then click Next. 6. Set the destination directory as C:\PROGRAM FILES\QI\DVDplayer. 7. Click Next. 8. Verify the current settings are correct, then click Next. 9. When the files have been copied, click Finish to complete the installation. 10. Click Start -> Programs -> MS-DOS Prompt. 11. Type cd\, then press Enter. 12. Type copy c:\dvdup\dvdpld.dll c:\windows\system, then press Enter. 13. Press Y, for yes, if asked if you want to overwrite the existing files. 14. Type Exit, then press Enter. This will close the DOS window.
