SiS 530 video device driver version 1.08 README This package installs an update to the Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 98 device driver for the SiS 530 video adapter that comes preinstalled in your IBM(R) Aptiva(R) computer. This update requires approximately 13 MB of space on your hard disk (drive C). This update package is intended for IBM Aptiva machine types 2170-xx that come with a preinstalled SiS 530 video adapter. Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation. Downloading the update ---------------------- 1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page. 2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file. INSTALLING THE UPDATE --------------------- 1. Click Start -> Find -> Files and folders. 2. Type a71z00us.exe in the search box, then click Find Now. This will locate the a71z00us.exe file you just downloaded. 3. Double-click the icon for a71z00us.exe. The directory should remain C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\A71Z00US. 4. Click Next. 5. Click I Agree. 6. Click Finish. 7. Click Yes. 8. Click OK. The setup program will run. Follow all onscreen prompts and reboot when done. TESTING FOR SUCCESSFUL INSTALLATION ----------------------------------- To verify that the installation was successful, do the following: 1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel. 2. Double-click the System icon. 3. From Device Manager Properties, Click the Device Manager tab. 4. Click the '+' next to Display Adapters 5. Double-click the entry labeled SiS 530. 6. Click the Driver tab, and Select the Driver File Details button. 7. The file version should read: 4.12.01.1080 ISSUES RESOLVED BY THIS UPDATE ------------------------------ 1.
