To shops lacking full sets of plug gages, this Taper Parallel Gage Set offers an economical and convenient means of checking holes of any size from ¼” to 1”. It also can be used instead of plugs when it is desired to check distances between holes.

To measure hole sizes as shown in the illustration, two gaging pieces are inserted in the hole and expanded along the tapered surfaces. The diameter of the hole then can be obtained by measuring the Taper Parallel Gage pieces externally.

The set consists of 10 gages made of high grade tool steel hardened and ground to very close limits. The small A and B gages are spring tempered to prevent breaking. The measuring surfaces are ground on a radius according to the size of the holes in which they are to be used.

Gages are packed in a neat wooden case, and a plate in the cover gives the ranges obtainable with different combination of gages.
