USB installation on the 3272 using WIN95 ================================= This is the PIX driver which you will need in order to install USB This file is located on Intel's web site at the following URL: http://developer.intel.com/design/software/drivers/platform/inf/lic_infinst_pv22.htm If you agree to the download, you will then go to to a site that will allow you to download infinst_enu_pv22.zip I have downloaded this .zip file and converted it into a self extracting file called PIX.EXE which is available on this site. This file may not be the latest as it comes from Intel and Intel may have made changes. To make sure that you have a current version download from the Intel site Download PIX.exe to a temp file then do the following to create a diskette PIX.EXE A: STEPS TO LOAD USB SUPPORT ======================== 1 Before loading WIN95, go to the BIOS SETUP (F2) and make sure USB Legacy Support is DISABLED and Plug N Play is ENABLED 2 Load WIN95 - DO NOT check the boxes that ask for WIN95 to find your Audio or Network devices 3 When WIN95 comes up after loading go to - Explore, CD device (D: in my case), OTHER directory, USB directory - and load USBSUPP from this CD 4 The system will now do a SCANDISK and report that USB is installed then the system will reboot. 5 Insert the PIX diskette that you have created from the PIX.EXE file that I sent - Run SETUP from the diskette. The screen will show a README.TXT file hit NEXT then FINISH 6 The system will then install drivers including the IDE BUS Master - INTEL 82371AB/EB/MB PCI controller The system will reboot when finished.
