====================================================================== The ( 3182 \ Globalyst 250 ) contains a flashable bios. To upgrade the bios on this machine, follow the following steps: ====================================================================== 1: Remove the Hard Disk Cover, which is located directly in front of the keyboard, to the right. 2: Make note of your Product ID which is located to the right of FOUR SMALL DIP SWITCHES. This Product ID formatted as follows: CLASS - MODEL - SOFTWARE ex: 3182 - 0364 - 9000 Your model number will tell you which bios is needed for your particular unit. This is very important, because flashing an incorrect bios can damage the unit. The 3182 \ G250 is sold with three different processor speeds. this will determine which bios you require. After noting which Model you have from the above list, refer to the column on the right for the Bios upgrade diskette filename which is located in a hidden directory on the BBS. To download the file, choose "D" for "download a specific filename" from the file libraries menu. Then enter the filename exactly as it appears above. You can then download the latest version of bios for your machine. NOTE: After downloading the file and creating the Bios Upgrade Diskette, you must change the dip switch settings under the hard disk cover, (referenced above), before you can actually perform the upgrade. Dip switch one, must be set in the OFF position, (pointing toward the keyboard rather than the LCD), before the bios can be upgraded.
