At the end of the instructions, there will be a reference to the page number or document that the information came from. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Image on monitor shows up with a green hue. ------------------------------------------- Remove the JP-1 jumper on the MGE-AT 256 board, or JP-3 on the MGE-MCA 16 board. Restart the system. Reference: Comprehensive Users Manual Pg. 11 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- No video shows up on screen and the computer beeps several times. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Enable jumper JP2 on the MGE if it is the only video card in the system. Disable the JP2 jumper if there is another video card in the system with the MGE. Reference: Comprehensive Users Manual Pg. 8,41. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Upon boot, or execution of the DGIS.EXE file, a message appears saying that the configuration file could not be read. --------------------------------------------------------------- Change to the \DGIS subdirectory and run HWCONFIG. Set the type of monitor and resolution ans save the configuration. Reboot the system. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- When running the MGE-MCA in the PS/2, all my graphics screens come up in monochrome. ------------------------------------------------------------- There is a VGA Terminator plug enclosed with the MGE. This plug resembles the end of a video cable. Plug this into the onboard VGA port on the PS/2, and reboot the system. Reference: Comprehensive Users Manual Pg. 22 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Microsoft Windows 3.0 installation: Half way through the installation of Windows 3.0 the screen should change to the Hi Resolution graphic screen. What you may encounter is the screen blanking out, and the cursor flashing in the upper left hand corner. -------------------------------------------------------------------- This is an indication that the DGIS.EXE for DGIS 3.0 has not been executed prior to the installation of Windows, and the Hi Res drivers. To correct this place the line \DGIS\DGIS in the AUTOEXEC.BAT. Reboot the system making sure that the DGIS Ver 3.0 for TI 34010 line appears on screen prior to the installation of Windows. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! An error was detected when trying to enable the graphics display. ! ! DGIS version 3.00 or greater has not been properly installed or an ! ! internal Windows error has occurred. Reboot your system and ensure! ! that DGIS 2.00 or higher has been properly installed. ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This error may occur when trying to execute WIN for Windows 3.O. This error is displayed when the DGIS.EXE is not executed prior to trying to running Windows 3.0 with the Hi Res drivers for the MGE installed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Upon switching screens from the text driven menu in AutoCAD to the Hi Resolution drawing area, and error is displayed explaining that there is no video driver installed at address 07AH. This will be followed by the Hi Resolution drawing screen not being displayed at all. --------------------------------------------------------------------- This error can usually be attributed to one of several things. 1. Make sure that the video driver selected in AutoCAD 10/386 is set for ADI 4.0. 2. Make sure that the DGIS.EXE is being executed from the AUTOEXEC.BAT. 3. Make sure that the ACADRL10.COM has been executed prior to running ACAD.EXE. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The background color in AutoCAD does not change after I have selected the color I want in ACADCFG.EXE. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ACADCFG.EXE file creates a data file that is read by the ACADRL10.COM file when setting up the colors for AutoCAD. This data file is called DGISADI.CFG. Occasionally that file can be misread for a couple of reasons. 1. That file will occasionally get placed elsewhere on the system and will not be read when you make modifications to it. Be sure that the ACADRL10.COM, ACADCFG.EXE and the DGISADI.CFG files are all located in the ACAD subdirectory. 2. This file also seems suseptable to getting corrupted. This will not affect the system, but it might be a good idea to make a backup copy of the DGISADI.CFG file for this reason. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- One puts the MGE-AT into a Compaq 486 EISA computer, and the system hangs. ------------------------------------------------------------------- This problem is not limited to the Compaq 486 machines. This problem is a distinct conflict with the INTEL EISA controller card. This card can be found in 386 and 486 based EISA machines. The problem is that the INTEL controller does not recognize the setup routine of the Chips & Technologies chip set for VGA. There are quite a few video cards suffering this compatability issue. The INTEL people are looking at a fix for this sometime around the third quarter of 1991. NEC is addressing it now. One can run the MGE in Hi Res on these machines by disabling the JP-2 jumper and running a dual monitor system with the provided onboard VGA on most of these systems. The conflict does not affect the Hi Res portion of the MGE. l5ikuwÄÆÈú,.•—Æ_§©ó>HJJ|ÉËÍTšœé)vxz¿ï35‚Ðêì i k k m »  R ‡ Ò Ô  j l n »  U ¢ ï <‰‹^«¯üüI•Û')kmµÐÒ,.|Ýßá.U¡£€‚‚Ðh”–â*i¶¸º.xzsuZ\^`bdffhjll5Jk ü‚fl6789:;
