If you ever get messages like Xlib: connection to "jasper:0.0" refused by server Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server 1363-008 aixterm: Cannot make a connection to X server jasper:0. If the X server is not running, run the xinit command. If the X server is running, check the specified display number. this indicates you've rlog'd into some other machine and your x-server doesn't think the machine your using is authorized to display stuff on your console. To see who is authorized, type xhost back home. To add the machine, xhost ech for example. Another thing to beware of is that machines with multiple network adapters have multiple names, for example spruce & spruce-70. You'll need to xhost-authorize both. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
