To get Sametime to work while ssh'd into spectre rather than VPN-ing in, Before logging into spectre, go to the "Properties" window of your SecureCRT session to spectre. Go to the "Port Forwarding" menu (not the "Remote" menu underneath the "Port Forwarding" menu like I first did) Click on "Add". Under "Name:", put anything you'd like, say "Sametime". In the "Local" box, under "Port:", put 1533 (as you do, this gets duplicated in the "Remote Port:" field) In the "Remote" box, check the "Destination host is different from the SSH server." checkbox, which will open up the "Hostname:" field. Click "OK". Click "OK". You can then connect to spectre. Then under the Sametime client, Go to the "Options" menu, Select "Preferences", Select the "Sametime Connectivity" tab, Change the Sametime server "Host" field to localhost instead of kangaroo (or its dotted decimal equivalent) Click "OK". Then you can connect to the Sametime server ("People", "Log On to Sametime...").
