The Swiss National Patent Office I.P. Address: 193.72.224.121 Root Password: NePr30oZuS (It used to be fdk01TKsGh) The ipsw node is their main & Verity web servers and their DB/2 server. The ipsi node is their image server. ============================================================================= The Netherlands Patent Office is aka NIPO, aka BIE. To log in to it, you need to ssh into its Control WorkStation (cws), then telnet to either their web/verity/DB2 server, spn07, or to their image server, spn09. The userid/password you need is delphion/m0nique0 (passwords must be 8 chars long and contain 2 non-alphabetic characters). To get to their web site, go to oio.bie.no = 212.153.252.148. The userid/password you need to get into their site is ibm/sterren (which is the Dutch word for "star", I think). I've defined I.P. names and alias for these addresses. You can ssh to cws or biecws, and point your web browser to nipo or bie. ============================================================================= There are 3 web servers running at the BIE's spn07 node, serving three different sets of users. Port 80: (websrv_ext) for Companies & lawyers. Login required & can't print. The userid file is at /arc/ips/security/users_ext. Port 100: (regplus) This is NOT our application. Don't worry about it, but their IS code in viewpat for these users to view Dutch patents only. Port 180: (websrv_int) for users physically inside their patent library. These guys CAN print. This is also the web server that the loading tool sends you to (see .../cgi-bin/admin/loading.html). The userid file is at /arc/ips/security/users_ext. To manage userids in these users files, as delphion on spn07, cd /arc/ips/security and use the dbmmanage utility. See my apache help file for details. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - On spn09, the image server runs on port 81. ============================================================================= Servaas's Conference Call Phone number is 9-011-32-2404-8211 ============================================================================= The changes the NPO sites make to US, non-utility patents, are In Southbury In NPO Sites Patent Types ============ ============ ======================================== USdddddddd__ USdddddddd__ Utility Patents USDddddddd__ US0Ddddddd__ Design Patents USHddddddd__ US0Hdddddd__ Statutory Invention Registrations (SIRs) USTddddddd__ US0Tdddddd__ Defensive Patents USXddddddd__ US0Xdddddd__ Corrections (or CHT thinks, Super-Secret) USREdddddd__ US0REddddd__ Reissued Patents USPPdddddd__ US0PPddddd__ Plant Patents USHDdddddd__ US0HDddddd__ Design SIRs USHPdddddd__ US0HPddddd__ Plant SIRs USCddddddd__ ??? This munging is due to the MicroPatent Image CDs that the # National Patent Offices use. MicroPatent uses the millions digit to distinguish # non-utility patents as follows, # USH = SIRs Add 7,000,000 Kind on CD is H1 # USR = Reissues Add 8,000,000 Kind on CD is E1 # USD = Design Add 9,000,000 Kind on CD is S1 # USP = Plant Add Nothing Kind on CD is P1 # US0 = Utility Add Nothing Kind on CD is A1 # # E.G. Design patent 00388451 is listed in the exchange.idx file on CD usa1997195, # as "USS1 09388451 ...". When that CD was indexed into the image server, that # 9-million something patent number was kept intact. Thus, for us to retrieve # US0D388451__, we must tell the image server we want patent number US09388451S1. # Bizarre, isn't it? ============================================================================= When I looked on 1-28-2002, here were the counts for the different kind codes for US patents. On all our other sites for US granted patents, we always set the kind code to "__". But last year on the Swiss site, they changed to preserving the kind code. See the jouve_usa_m2k1.cfg file in the /ips/converters/config directory on ipsi, their image server machine. In it, you'll see some kind of ITY tag for PATN (I don't understand the Jouve configuration file).
