miwo2000 Image Sources March 27, 2003 I just wanted to capture the state of affairs for all imag rows with a cdlabel like 'miwo200%', in Southbury and Patolis. This is before I renamed the PAMSCAN & IMPACT images. --Used/Loaded in-- Year CD Labels Media Southbury Patolis ==== ========================= ===== ========= ======= 2000 miwo2000001 - miwo2000250 CDs Yes Yes miwo2000251 - miwo2000261 CDs Yes miwo2000551 - miwo2000552 DVDs Yes 2001 miwo2001001 - miwo2001005 DVDs Yes Yes miwo2001006 - miwo2001053 DVDs Yes miwo2001006 - miwo2001052 8 MM Yes <=== Renamed to pam2001nnn. 2002 miwo2002001 - miwo2002061 DVDs Yes miwo2002001 - miwo2002052 8 MM Yes <=== Renamed to pam2002nnn. 2003 miwo2003001 - miwo2003+ DVDs Yes miwo2003001 - miwo2003002 8 MM Yes <=== Renamed to pam2003nnn. miwo2003003 - miwo2003012+ DVDs Yes <=== Renamed to impact2003nnn. Notes: - In December, 2000 and January, 2001, WIPO distributed images on BOTH CD and DVDs, which we have in the cabinet. Interestingly, in December, 2000, they named the DVDs in the 500s, but in 2003, it was the CDs that got the 500 numbers with the DVDs starting at 001. For example, the miwo2000551 DVD = the miwo2000251-256 CDs, and the miwo2000552 DVD = the miwo2000257-261 CDs. - The 8 MM tapes are known as PAMSCAN tapes. We have PAMSCAN tapes for the years 1998-2002 and the beginning of 2003, but as you can see, not all were used. - There are some extra 2001 PAMSCAN tapes that were either replacements for bad originals (e.g. miwo2002040_2), or two tapes came out that week (e.g. miwo2002043_1 and _2). - You can differientiate imag data from the PAMSCAN tapes from the CD or DVD data, by virtue of the fact that the PAMSCAN tapes do not have page start information. So a query like ... - In early 2003, we started using IMPACT DVDs, which have a really funky label. Unfortunately, we continued naming them miwo in imag. The action I took was to rename the namesrc and cdlabel imag columns for the 47 miwo2001nnn PAMSCAN tapes to pam2001nnn(_n), the 54 miwo2002nnn PAMSCAN tapes to pam2002nnn, the 2 miwo2003nnn PAMSCAN tapes to pam2003nnn, and the 10 miwo2003nnn IMPACT DVDs to impact2003nnn, so as to 1) most importantly, not conflict with the cdlabels of the same name but different media, in Patolis, 2) identify which images came from PAMSCAN tapes or IMPACT DVDs and not from CDs or DVDs with the same label. I also changed the one line in /afs/d/FakeDFS/ips/bin/save_wld_PCT.pl and /afs/d/FakeDFS/ips/bin/save_PCT_dvd.pl to generate the page count file with the correct name (e.g. pam2002012.pgcnt). Sandy's page count loading process uses the first part of this name, to populate the namesrc & cdlabel columns of imag. I even went around to the stored page count files on patimg1's /ssa/images/pgcnt and /ssa/images/pgcnt/2001 directories, renaming them to their new names. I did NOT though, also hit the page count files in patimg1's /ssa/images/images1/WO/miwo2* directories. It seems Sandy uses those directories to generate the files, then moves them to that /ssa/images/pgcnt (and later archives them to /ssa/images/pgcnt/2001), so it seemed unnecessary and too complicated.
