This hint is from a Unix Toolbox posting.  I can't vouch if
this is for just AIX or for other OS's as well.

To avoid the 75 seconds delay in DNS (eg, when reverse resolution
doesn't work for telnet), set up this lines in /etc/environment:

RES_TIMEOUT=2
RES_RETRY=1

When making changes, try to keep the Lisle DNS server (shytown,

aka space) in synch with this Dialog DNS server.

   (chiname (10.224.89.254) is a DNS slave of shytown)



shytown (10.224.89.147) is a Windows machine, so use Terminal

Services to connect as administrator/p0rcupine.



There is a DNS icon on the desktop.
