Systems that do not support RIPL (RPL)

  Chapter 3. Systems that do not support RIPL (RPL)
    Remote Initial Program Load (RIPL, or RPL) allows the system
  to load an operating system (IPL, or Boot) through the network,
  from a properly configured RPL server.  On some systems, the
  BIOS will only allow the hard disk, or a diskette drive to be
  the 'boot' device.
    Systems from these companies do not allow RIPL:
    - Compaq
    - Gateway2000
  NOTE: Some systems allow the network to be selected as a boot
  device right in the system setup utility.  Check your system's
  documentation under 'start up', or 'boot sequence' to see if
  this feature is available.  For systems which allow RPL,
  but do not provide for it in the setup utility, there are
  utilities in the RPL subdirectory of the Device Driver
  Diskette that will alter the boot sequence.  Refer to the
  README.RPL file in the RPL subdirectory of the Auto LANStreamer
  PCI Device Drivers diskette for more information regarding RPL.
                         -----------------
    The IBM ValuePoint P60/D will RPL correctly only if 16K
  ('4000'h) of ROM region between 'C8000'h and 'CFFFF'h is
  available for use by the Auto LANStreamer PCI adapter.
  This system is not able to use the ROM region between 'D0000'h
  and 'DFFFF'h for PCI device ROMs.
