POST error code 161, 162, 163 on 425sx
PROBLEM - POST error 161, 162, or 163 may appear on some Valuepoint 425SX models.
Systems AFFECTED - 6382/S and 6384/D with 425SX processors and system board FRU
part number 61G3215.
SOLUTION - To determine if there is a problem with your system board perform the
following:
   -  Power on the system and press F1 during the memory count to enter
 the configuration utility.
   
 -  Verify the date and time setting in the configuration utility.
 reset if necessary. Press escape to save the changes.
   
 -  Power the system off. Leave the system powered off for a minimum
 of 10 minutes. Power the system back on and allow the system to
 complete post.
   
 -  If no 161, 162, or 163 error is evident during POST and the entry
 in the configuration reflects the 10 minutes in which the system was
 powered off, this information does not apply.
   
 -  If the system does POST a 161, 162, or 163 error during POST and
 the system board memory SIMM connectors are numbered J18 thru J21
 (type 1 system board) this information does not apply.
   
 -  If the system does POST a 161, 162, or 163 error during POST and
 the system board memory SIMM connectors are numbered J19 thru J22
 (type 2 system board) this information does apply.
   
 -  If the system meets the criteria in #6, measure the battery
 voltage. This voltage should be approximately 3 volts. If the
 battery voltage is not correct then replace the battery.
   
 -  If the battery voltage is correct and the system meets the criteria
 in #6 then replace the system board with FRU # 61G3215
