Token Ring 16/4 adapter II (P/N 03F0215) - DXMEOMOD.SYS

PROBLEM - The Token Ring network 16/4 adapter II (P/N 03F0215) in conjunction with the DXMEOMOD.SYS driver of the LAN support program will experience significantly higher memory consumption combined with poorer performance than if you use the IBM Token Ring network 16/4 adapter or the IBM 16/4 ISA-16 adapter.

Machines AFFECTED - All 6382/S, 6384/D, and 6387/T's.

SOLUTION - Using v2.00.02 or later of the IBM16TR.DOS driver, loading the three lsp drivers 'high' will fix this problem, provided your UMB is large enough. PROTMAN.DOS and IBM16TR.DOS must remain in conventional memory. The current driver diskette (v3.0) can be obtained from the IBM BBS.

Additional Information - Performance may suffer using the Token Ring network 16/4 adapter II with the DXMEMOD.SYS driver. If you are planning on using any of the following applications using the IBM Token Ring network 16/4 adapter or IBM 16/4 ISA-16 adapter is strongly recommended.

- PC/3270

- as/400 oc support

- IBM TCP/IP v 2.0 for DOS

- DOS LAN requester
