To begin the installation of a high-availability cluster solution, you must first configure the ServeRAID adapter, define logical drives, and set up Merge IDs. To do this, perform the following procedure.

-Important- Before beginning this procedure, read the following information.

Read 'ServeRAID Considerations'.
Ensure that the ServeRAID adapters have the latest BIOS/firmware (microcode) installed.
You must have Version 3.0 or higher as a minimum.

For instructions on how to determine the versions of the BIOS/firmware (microcode) on your ServeRAID adapter, refer to the documentation that comes with your server or your adapter.
