System Board SCSI LEDs

A solid on or blinking system board SCSI LED indicated an error was detected. (The blinks are followed by a pause.)


Note:

  1.  To locate the LEDs on the system board see 'System Board Component Locations'
  2.  If you are instructed to flash the ServeRAID  controller on the system board, refer to the  ServerGuide that was shipped with the system  for instructions on creating a bootable ServeRAID  Flash diskette. Or refer to the WEB, see 'Online Support'.
  3.  Check the system error log for additional  information before replacing a FRU.

System Board SCSI LEDs    FRU/Action
   1 blink followed by a 1. Check cables
   pause 2. System Board
   (Boot block checksum error) 3. DASD Backplane
   2 blinks followed by a 1. Check cables
   pause 2. System Board
   (DRAM parity error) 3. DASD Backplane
   3 blinks followed by a 1. Run the ServeRAID Flash program.
   pause 2. Check cables
   (Code block checksum 3. System Board
   error, flash the ServeRAID 4. DASD Backplane
   controller.)  
   4 blinks followed by a 1. Check cables
   pause 2. System Board
   (DRAM DATA) 3. DASD Backplane
   5 blinks followed by a 1. Check cables
   pause 2. System Board
   (DRAM address error) 3. DASD Backplane
   6 blinks followed by a 1. Run the ServeRAID Flash program.
   pause 2. Check cables
   (Code block checksum 3. System Board
   error, flash the ServeRAID 4. DASD Backplane
   controller.)

  2. Check cables
