Termination (Internal SCSI Devices)
The devices at both ends of the SCSI bus must be terminated.
If you attach SCSI devices (internal or external), you must
terminate the last device in the chain.
NOTE: All the hot-swap drives in the server have automatic
termination.
If you install SCSI devices in the removable-media bays,
you must terminate the last device on the bus (cable) and
disable the termination on the other devices connected to
the internal SCSI controller. The SCSI controller is already
terminated.
For example, when you install the first SCSI device in a
removable-media bay, set its termination to Enable and
install the device in bay 4 (the bottom bay). Then, when
you install additional SCSI devices in removable-media
bays 1, 2, and 3, set their termination to Disable.
Refer to the information that come with the SCSI device tor
instructions about setting device jumpers or switches that
control termination.
