Secure Mode
Secure mode helps to protect the
system against unauthorized use. Secure mode inhibits
keyboard and mouse input, and disables the power switch
and reset button. Secure mode takes effect when the
keyboard and mouse remain inactive for an amount of time
that you determine. You can gain access to the system
only after you enter the correct user password.
NOTE: You must set a user password before you can enable secure mode.

Options
Description
Hot Key
OptionSpecifies a set ot keyboard commands that
will place the system immediately into secure
mode.
Lockout
TimerSpecifies a keyboard and mouse inactivity
timeout period ot 1 to 128 minutes (in
one-minute increments). If the timer is
enabled, and no keyboard or mouse activity
occurs for the specitied period. keyboard and
mouse input is inhibited.
Secure
Boot ModeSpecifies if the keyboard and mouse will be
disabled after POST completes and the
operating system has loaded.
You must enter the user password to unlock
the keyboard and mouse.
Video
BlankingSpecifies whether secure mode will cause
the monitor to go blank.
Floppy
WritesSpecifies whether writing to a diskette is
enabled or disabled when the system is in
secure mode.
Reset/Power
Switch
LockingSpecifies if the power switch and reset
button are disabled when the system is in
secure mode.
