The user of said information does so at his or her own risk. This document discusses the operation of Carbon Copy for Windows with the Complete FAX/9624 data modem. The following information will describe the changes necessary to Carbon Copy for Windows's configuration parameters to have it function with the Complete FAX/9624 data modem. Note that the following information is presented with the assumption that you are using a mouse. If you are not using a mouse, please refer to the Carbon Copy for Windows manual for keyboard equivalents. Setting up Carbon Copy for Windows To configure Carbon Copy for Windows for use with the Complete FAX/9624, the modem must be set to the following. Run either the Guest or Host applications. Choose Options from the menu. Then select Port Settings. Choose the Com port the FAX/9624 is configured for and choose 9600 for the port speed. The Complete FAX/9624 is not on the modem selection menu so you will choose MNP Compatable and then click OK. IMPORTANT! When installing the resident portions of Carbon Copy for Windows, CFBACK must not be loaded. You must unload it before going into Carbon Copy for Windows. The background code for FAX/9624 (CFBACK) conflicts with modem operations. Other Considerations If problems develop please check the following for possible problems. Make sure the Com port setting in Carbon Copy for Windows matches the setting on the Complete FAX/9624. If you receive a failure in connecting be sure to check the modem with a communications package to ensure the modem functions properly. Be sure to check to see if the modem initialization string matches the above configuration. If problems still occur contact Microcom to ensure your Carbon Copy for Windows settings are correct.
