Neither The Complete PC nor any of it's employees assume any responsibility for consequences resulting from the use of the following information nor can the Complete PC technical support provide help with this document. The user of said information does so at his or her own risk. These are general instructions on how to access your beeper from the Complete Answering Machine (CAM). These instructions give you the parameters that you must set up in CAM to use it with your beeper. First verify that Message Forwarding is enabled. From the PC, run the CAM program. Go into your default mailbox, and select F7 (System Configuration). Hit F3 (Feature Control) and set Message Forwarding to Yes. Setup Message Forwarding for the desired mailbox. Go into the mailbox you wish to have page you and select F4 (Personal Options) and then F4 again (Message Forwarding Mode) and verify that the following are set: Forward Messages? Y Phone Number (See Below) # of retries 1 Interval 10 (10 is the default. Actual value is unimportant as the mailbox will be set up for only one attempt to the beeper. In the Telephone Number field, enter the number you dial to access your pager, followed by a number of semicolons (;), the number you would like displayed on your pager, and ended with an exclaimation point (!). Example: 555-1234;;;;;;226! When a message is left, CAM will dial the number (555-1234), then pause for the time specified by the semicolons. This gives your pager company time to answer the phone and make it's beeps. CAM then dials the last digits (226) to be displayed on your pager and hangs up (!). The key to making this feature work is in the timing of your telephone system, pager, and the CAM's dialing. Most pager systems need between 4 and 6 semicolons to delay long enough for the subsequent tones to be played. Important You may need to adjust the length of the pause represented by the semicolon, depending on the delay needed for your pager. The semicolon is equivelent to the "Wait for Outside Line" parameter which you will find on the Telephone System Information screen accessed through the INSTALL program on the hard drive.
