POS is a simple text-based utility that attempts to glean quite a lot of information about a system from its Programmable Option Select (POS) registers. It was actually written as part of another project, and is provided 'as-is'. It covers most common models, but feedback on those that it doesn't support is welcome (you will know if your machine is one of these, because it will claim to not recognise the machine ID). The information provided includes: Model, submodel, BIOS revision, planar ID Memory configuration, including size and speed of modules in each connector Contents of each MicroChannel slot (POS ID and, sometimes, card description) as well as contents of POS bytes Video configuration (type, port, instance, ROM, aperture, etc.) Parallel and serial configuration (port, IRQ, operating mode, etc.) Onboard SCSI configuration
