BACKUP REF DISKS Yes, the PS/2s that have an IML(initial microcode load) partition should have your current ADFs and configuration information stored in the IML partition, and it will be written to diskette when you run the "create backup Reference/Diagnostic diskettes" function. To do this, either press the Ctrl-Alt-Ins key sequence when the display cursor jumps to the upper right corner, or hold down a key on the keyboard to generate a false keyboard error to get into the Reference Diskette menu, then make the backup diskettes following the prompts. On your non-IML machines, like the 8550 and 8580, you'll need to recreate your backup diskettes the "old-fashioned" way, by hand. On my PS/2s, I used to make screen prints of the configuration pages on my trusty Proprinter in case my backup reference diskettes were unreadable after the battery gave out. They came in handy a couple of times. Rick Ekblaw IML MACHINES 56/57/76/77/85/90/95/95A 8590 8595 9576 9577 9585 9590 9595 Server 500 NON IML MACHINES 8550 8580
