Windows NT Requester v3.00 Windows NT* Requester client driver installation notes for Intel's EtherExpress(TM) PRO/10 ISA adapter =================================================================== Location of driver: \NWSERVER\EPRO.LAN \NWSERVER\OEMSETUP.INF Note: These directions use the NetWare client requester that supports NT 4.0 and 3.51. The requester can be obtained on Novell's website (support.novell.com). General Instructions for Windows NT 3.51 ---------------------------------------- 1 Disable Plug and Play on the adapter. To do this, run SoftSet2, choose Change adapter configuration from the main menu, Advanced options menu and disable Plug and Play. Note the I/O address of the adapter for future reference. 2 Install the NT Requester. Be sure to review the documentation that came with the Requester software. Note: If the NDIS driver for the PRO/10 ISA is installed, remove it from NT before installing the NetWare NT Requester. 3 Start Windows NT and log in as ADMINISTRATOR (or another valid user name that has administrator rights). 4 Double click the "Network" icon in the Control Panel. Select NO when prompted to install Windows NT Networking. 5 Click on Add Software button and scroll down to highlight " Requires disk from manufacturer" and click Continue. 6 Type in the path to where the NT Client Requester files are located. Be sure to include the subdirectory where the SETUPNW.EXE file is located (in the beta software, the subdirectory was \i386). 7 "Novell NetWare Client for Windows NT" should be highlighted. Click on OK. Answer YES to the license agreement. 8 Select YES to install NWLINK IPX Protocol. 9 Specify the path where the NT operating system installation files are located. 10 Click on Add Adapter button and scroll down to highlight " Requires disk from manufacturer" and click Continue. 11 Insert the Intel Configuration and Driver Disk into your floppy drive and type A:\NWSERVER. Click OK to continue. 12 When "ODI Intel EtherExpress PRO/10 ISA adapter for NetWare" appears, click OK. 13 With the floppy disk still inserted, click Continue when asked for the location to the Intel EtherExpress PRO/10 ISA adapter driver files. 14 After the files are copied, the default driver settings will be displayed. Be sure the port address is the same as what was set in SoftSet2. Click OK when correct. 15 For the EPRO#1 Bus Location screen, ISA needs to be specified. Bus Number is not applicable for ISA, and should be set to 0 (zero). 16 Click OK in Network Settings dialog to complete the installation. 17 Select an IPX frame type. AUTO DETECT is the default and generally works fine. Click OK. 18 Restart NT to complete the installation. General instructions for Windows NT 4.0 --------------------------------------- 1 Turn off Plug and Play on the adapter. Be sure the PORT address matches what was set in SoftSet2. Click OK when correct. 15 For the EPRO#1 Bus Location screen, ISA needs to be specified. Bus Number is not applicable for ISA, and should be set to 0 (zero). 16 Click on CLOSE of the adapter tab. 17 On the NWLINK IPX/SPX Properties screen, select an IPX frame type. AUTO DETECT is the default and generally works fine. Click OK. 18 Restart NT to complete the installation. Advanced Settings ----------------- NODE ADDRESS OVERRIDE: Use for setting a locally-administered node address. The node address is a 12-digit hexadecimal number; the second digit must be one of the following digits: 2, 6, A or E. On NT 3.51: To get to the Advanced Settings, click on Network icon in Control Panel, highlight the ODI Intel EtherExpress PRO/10 ISA adapter and click Configure.
