Getting NeOS software
NeOS version 1.51 (the latest version) can be freely downloaded by FTP from the principal NeOS archive on the host ftp.carnet.hr in the directory /pub/pc/networking/NeOS. You shold be avare that whole Croatian Academic and Research Network (CARNet) is connected to the Internet with only 128kbps link (as of July 1996). If it is not very busy day you may expect about 300 bps of this link to be yours. It is best to start download between 3 and 5am Central European time (or around 10pm in the USA). 

The files that are placed in that directory are: 

neos-151.zip - NeOS version 1.51 binaries
neos-xt.zip - NeOS v 1.51 binaries for XT machines (8086 instructons)
neos-dl.zip - NeOS v 1.51 installation for "diskless" machines
ndis.zip - NDIS utilities (see section on 3Com network adapter) 
You may check if NeOS is available closer to you with archie (look for neos-151.zip), but it is much more likely that it will find only version 1.0 (file neos_10.zip or neos-10.zip). That's because NeOS version 1.0 was uploaded to SimTel software repository and mirrored from there all around the world. It is also included on numerous CD-ROMs with shareware/public domain products. You may also check your local BBS. 

Drivers and Utilities
If you don't have the packet driver for your ethernet card the first place to check is the famous Crynwr packet driver collection. It is available from the following Internet locations:

The collection consists of four files: pktd11.zip, pktd11a.zip, pktd11b.zip and pktd11c.zip. Check for these with archie and you can't miss

NeOS Mailing List
There is a mailing list about the NeOS on the mailserver host stribor.srce.hr. You may subscribe by sending the mail with the following line in the body of the message:
