ISA adapters in EISA slots v3.04 Installing an EtherExpress(TM) PRO/10 ISA adapter in an EISA slot ================================================================== You can install the EtherExpress(TM) PRO/10 adapter in an EISA slot. Installation requires three steps: 1. Put the adapter in the computer. Follow the procedure in the Installation Guide for installing the adapter into a slot in the computer. 2. Set the computer's EISA configuration. A Restart the computer. If you have a flash-equipped adapter, exit the flash program. B Run the most recent version of the EISA Configuration Utility (ECU) for this computer. C From the Main menu, select the command for configuring the computer. D Choose the menu item that allows you to add an adapter to your computer, then select the slot where the adapter is located. E Select the command that allows the ECU to read the adapter's EISA configuration files from the Intel diskette. F When prompted, insert the Intel Configuration and Drivers disk, then select the appropriate file from the list of available adapter configuration files. For the EtherExpress PRO/10+ adapter, choose !int1031.cfg. For the EtherExpress PRO/10 adapter, choose !int1030.cfg. G Write down the settings you want to assign to the EtherExpress PRO/10 adapter and exit the program. (You must choose settings that aren't used by any other device in the computer.) 3. Configure the adapter with SoftSet2. A Insert the Intel configuration disk into a drive, switch to that drive, and type SOFTSET2. B From the Main menu, select Change Adapter Configuration. C Select the configuration settings you chose in the EISA configuration program. D Continue with the setup procedure by testing the adapter and installing the driver as shown in the Installation Guide.
