PRODUCT: Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) VERSION: 3.0 PLATFORM: UNIX(R) TITLE AutoClose Plug-in DESCRIPTION You can have up to nine documents open at the same time in Adobe Acrobat Exchange(R) 3.0 and later and Adobe Acrobat Reader(R) 3.0 and later. When you attempt to open a tenth document, Exchange or Reader automatically closes the least recently opened document. The AutoClose plug-in for Exchange and Reader enables you to reduce the maximum number of documents open at a time. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Adobe Acrobat Exchange 3.0 and later for UNIX or Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0 and later for UNIX HANDLING NOTES After downloading a ".tar.Z" file on a UNIX system, use "uncompress -c [myfile.tar.Z] | tar xvf -" to access the file's contents, where [myfile.tar.Z] is the file you want to decompress. INSTALLATION NOTES For Exchange for UNIX: 1. Quit all Acrobat applications. 2. Move the Autoclos.api file into the Acrobat3/Exchange//plug_ins folder, where is the platform version of Acrobat you have installed (e.g., sparcsolaris). For Reader for UNIX: 1. Quit all Acrobat applications. 2. Move the Autoclos.api file into the Acrobat3/Reader//plug_ins folder, where is the platform version of Acrobat you have installed (e.g., sparcsolaris). ADDITIONAL NOTES The AutoClose plug-in is provided as-is and no technical support is available for it. The AutoClose plug-in does not enable you to increase the maximum number of documents open at a time beyond the default value of nine. If both Exchange and Reader are installed, move the AutoClose plug-in into each application's Plug-ins folder. To change the maximum number of documents that remain open before the AutoClose plug-in will begin closing documents automatically: 1. Change to your home directory (cd ~). 2. Open the .acrorc file in a text editor that can save in text-only format. 3. Search for the line that begins "*MaxOpenDocuments:". 4. Change the MaxOpenDocuments value to a value between 1 and 9 to reflect the desired maximum number of documents open at a time. 5. Save the file in text-only format.
